Research: Jane Gibson (nee Gray/Carnes)

Today I have decided to share my research on my 4x great grandmother, Jane Gibson (nee Gray/ nee Carnes). She lived in a time where women were thought to be sometimes lesser than men, but she managed to push against these social values with her strong mind. She was the keeper of a dwelling house, and seemed to have earned her own money for herself and family. Read her full story here!

Not a lot is known about John, but I believe him to have been a very hard working man who had to look after his wife and 10 children. Read his story here!

Research: Thomas Beacock
