Research: Charles Wright

Charles Wright was my 3x great uncle. He was the youngest sibling of my 2x great grandmother, Mary Ann Hunter (nee Wright). Charles had a very eventful and interesting life and I would have loved to have met him.

Research: Henry Handson Beacock

Today I have decided to share my research on my 3x great uncle, Henry Handson Beacock. He was the one of the older brothers of my 2x great Grandfather’s, Frederick Beacock. He was part of the first generation of the Beacock family to be born in Hull, after his father moved over from Lincolnshire in the 1860s. Read his story here!

Research: Jane Gibson (nee Gray/Carnes)

Today I have decided to share my research on my 4x great grandmother, Jane Gibson (nee Gray/ nee Carnes). She lived in a time where women were thought to be sometimes lesser than men, but she managed to push against these social values with her strong mind. She was the keeper of a dwelling house, and seemed to have earned her own money for herself and family. Read her full story here!

Research: George Henry Alec House

George was my 2x great uncle (the brother of my great grandmother). I did not know him, but through my research, I have learnt a lot about him. I have heard many stories and have seen lots of photographs of him. Today I have put all of this together for you all to read! Read his story here!

Research: John Hunter

Today I have decided to share my research on my 3x great grandfather John Hunter. He was an agricultural labourer from Burton Pidsea in East Yorkshire, England. Not a lot is known about John, but I believe him to have been a very hard working man who had to look after his wife and 10 children. Read his story here!

Research: Mary Ann Capon (nee Marrow)

Today I have decided to share my research on my great great grandmother Mary Ann Capon (nee Marrow). From what I know of her, she must have been a very strong minded and willed woman. This was definitely proven by how long she lived on the earth. I enjoy the stories that I have collected about her, love looking at photographs and learning more about her. I really wish I could have known her, as I have so many questions that may be forever unanswered!

Research: Sylvia May Beacock

My great Auntie Sylvia didn’t have a very long life at all, but she was a very special person. I feel very close to her for some reason, although she passed away 44 years before I was born. Here’s her story.

Research: William Cecil Hunter

My great uncle was called William Cecil Hunter, but was more commonly known as Cec. I have heard many many stories about him and his unmatchable sense of humour, kindness and generosity. He was known and loved by many people. It is such a shame that I never was able to meet him.
