Research: Jane Gibson (nee Gray/Carnes)

Today I have decided to share my research on my 4x great grandmother, Jane Gibson (nee Gray/ nee Carnes). She lived in a time where women were thought to be sometimes lesser than men, but she managed to push against these social values with her strong mind. She was the keeper of a dwelling house, and seemed to have earned her own money for herself and family. Read her full story here!

Research: Harold Hunter

My great uncle was called Harold Hunter, but was known by many other names, to many people. I had a lot of time for my uncle Harold, as he was a very funny, caring and genuine man. He was always able to make everyone and anyone laugh, and could easily lighten anybody’s mood if they were feeling down. I miss going to visit him, listening to his stories and laughing at his jokes. He will always be remembered and missed by both family and friends. Read his full story here!

Research: Sylvia May Beacock

My great Auntie Sylvia didn’t have a very long life at all, but she was a very special person. I feel very close to her for some reason, although she passed away 44 years before I was born. Here’s her story.
